About David Lindsay

DAVID LINDSAY l Guitarist and Composer

David lives in Toronto, Canada. David’s music is a synthesis of his classical guitar and lute background in celebration and honor of the human spirit.

David returned actively to the music scene after many years when he began recording at Imaginary Road in the Fall of 2014.

He now devotes his life to writing and playing music and more recently, theological studies at the Toronto School of Theology, University of Toronto. David’s love of the guitar began when he was eight years old in youthful tribute to his Sister’s Beatles albums.

He studied classical guitar performance and lute at Dalhousie University, Nov Scotia with Professor Carol van Feggelen who studied with the late great Andres Segovia. David’s Music is heard throughout North America, Great Britain, Europe and Australia.

Spanning 1985 to the year 2000, David recorded and performed in concert, live radio, and television in Canada.

For the next 15 years, David practiced law and studied lute. This led to master classes with Robert Barto and the late Pat O’Brien, whose generosity of spirit inspired David to begin a journey back to the guitar.

In 2015, David released his instrumental album, NIGHTBOUND. Nightbound was produced by Will Ackerman at his Imaginary Road Studios in Vermont, in conjunction with co-producer and engineer Tom Eaton.

Will is the founder of Windham Hill Records. He is a Grammy Winning producer of 27 gold and platinum records in the U.S. and overseas.

After David contacted the world famous musician and producer, and submitted his music, Will wrote back, saying, “… some of the best writing and playing I’ve heard in years.”

David returned to Imaginary Road Studio for the making of the 2018 release, “LAST PASSING OF SUMMER“, 2021 release, “HIGH WIND BLUE SKY” and 2023 release, “EVER SO“.
